I walked into Thirst Bar just as the headliners, Pretty When She’s Angry, were about to kick things off. Thirst is already on my "Must Go" list for anyone exploring Appleton nightlife, and tonight solidified exactly why. The vibe was set, the bar was on point (as usual), and the energy for live music was high.
Pretty When She’s Angry took a moment for some final sound tweaking, just ensuring everything was perfect, and then they absolutely kicked it into gear.
What a great performance! I have to mention the rumor I’d heard: they have a newer bass player. If I hadn’t known that beforehand, I never would have guessed. You can tell this entire band is incredibly tight. Their chemistry on stage is seamless, and they played a great variety of music that kept the entire room engaged. They bring a professional, polished, yet raw energy to their set that defines great Wisconsin rock bands.
It was honestly a little disappointing to see a smaller crowd than this group deserved. It’s too bad, because those who weren't there missed out on another fantastic band. Wisconsin definitely has talent, and this is why supporting live music is so vital!
