Last Sunday, August 23rd, was an absolute winner for live music in Manitowoc. I headed over to PetSkull Brewing to catch the Chicago soul-funk outfit Bumpus live on stage. I had reconnected with a few friends who wouldn't stop raving about this band, so I knew I had to swing by, grab a couple of PetSkull's signature Schnitzky craft beers, and capture the scene.
The band played outside in the tent, creating an incredible daytime atmosphere. A solid, good-sized crowd filled the space, soaking in the sunshine, great local craft beer, and raw live energy.
From the moment Bumpus kicked into their set, the tent was electric. Their tight horn lines, heavy rhythm section, and deep soul-funk grooves had everyone moving. I was there solo shooting photos and video clips of the band tearing up the stage and the crowd having a blast. It was an awesome Sunday Funday, and I would definitely go back to see another Bumpus show in a heartbeat.
Take a look at the photos and video clips below to get a taste of the action!
