Jerry Unger and The Fog — Cimarron, Menasha — Friday, October 30, 2026
Friday night in the Fox Valley has a rhythm to it, and Cimarron in Menasha might do it better than anybody. The fish fry crowd comes in early, the plates come out hot, and just about the time the last basket clears, the amps warm up and the night shifts gears. This Friday — the night before Halloween — it was Jerry Unger and The Fog's turn to take the room from dinner to a rock show.
If you follow WiParty, you know this was a first for us. Jerry Unger and The Fog have been on our radar and in our listings, but we'd never pointed a camera at them until Friday night. That changed. I spent the night at Cimarron shooting photos and video while the Fog did their thing — straight-ahead rock and roll, the kind that doesn't need gimmicks because the songs and the playing carry the room.
That's the thing about a band like this in a room like Cimarron. There's no distance between the band and the crowd. Nobody's watching from behind a barrier — you're right there, drink in hand, close enough to see every note get played. And being the night before Halloween, there were a few fun costumes scattered through the crowd — nothing crazy, just enough to remind you what weekend it was. The fish fry folks who "were just staying for one set" were still there deep into the night, which tells you everything you need to know about how it went.
Cimarron keeps earning its spot on the Friday night circuit. Fish fry runs 4 to 8:30, live music takes over at 8 and runs to midnight, and the lineup they book week after week gives you a reason to make it a habit — Dave Stefan Band, ROCKER and A-town Unplugged have all rolled through this month, and Jerry Unger and The Fog kept the streak alive.
