I stopped into Baypoint Bar & Grill (located at 944 S Green Bay Rd, Neenah, WI) to combine two of our state’s absolute favorite traditions—Green Bay football and a classic Wisconsin Friday Fish Fry.
Situated right along South Green Bay Road, Baypoint Bar & Grill is a convenient, easy-access local staple for sports fans and fish fry enthusiasts alike. On game nights, the venue takes on a whole new energy. The moment you walk through the door, you’re greeted by the hum of the crowd, local fans clad in green and gold, and the unmistakable aroma of fresh batter floating from the kitchen.
A proper Wisconsin fish fry is the standard across the Fox Valley, so I ordered a lineup of seafood classics to see how Baypoint holds up.
The Walleye: Fresh, tender, and clean with no heavy fishy taste whatsoever. The batter was light and delicate, giving a nice crunch without weighing down the fish. Served hot with a splash of lemon, it hit every note.
The Haddock: A solid, classic option. It featured that same nice, light batter as the walleye. The flavor profile was mild and balanced—an easy crowd-pleaser for traditional fish lovers.
Sweet Potato Fries: These were cooked perfectly—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, adding a nice touch of sweetness alongside the savory fish.
Coleslaw & Buns: The coleslaw was standard creamy fare, though a bit heavy on the mayonnaise. The buns were standard bar rolls—nothing fancy, but reliable for rounding out the plate.
While the food gets you through the door, the personality of Baypoint Bar really shines during kickoff. The game was on all screens, but what made the experience great was the fun culture kept up by the bartenders and regular crowd.
