The 15-Minute Miracle: A Friday Night at Primetime Bar & Grill
If you’re looking for things to do in Menasah on a Friday night, you usually have to choose between "good food" and "not waiting two hours." Well, I think I found the exception.
This past Friday, I packed up my son and headed over to Primetime Bar & Grill. I’d heard a whisper about some stuffed haddock and wanted to see if the hype was real. When we pulled up, the parking lot was absolutely slammed—always a good sign, but usually a bad sign for my hunger levels!
The Scene
The bar was standing-room only. We did the classic "Wisconsin table hawk," looking for a square inch of space to sit. We almost snagged one, but a lady beat us to it—luckily, she was super cool and pointed us toward her husband, who was finishing up at a smaller table by the bar. According to the guys nearby, the place had been packed since 3:30 PM!
The Food:
We ordered right away, expecting a long haul. To our total surprise, the food arrived in 15 minutes. In a house that full, that’s an absolute win.
The Fried Haddock: I got two massive fillets on a bed of fries, served with tartar, drawn butter, coleslaw, and marble rye. The flavor was solid, and the tartar sauce was great. The breading on the bottom was a little soggy and the fries were a bit lukewarm, but for the speed and price, it’s a heavy hitter.
The Burger: My son went for the burger. His verdict? Juicy, great flavor, and a good size.
The damage? $40.08 for the two of us (plus a Sun Drop and a soda). With a tip, you’re looking at a $50 Friday night—not bad at all for a full-stomach experience in the heart of the Appleton nightlife scene.
I didn't see the stuffed haddock on the menu this time around, so the hunt continues! But for a fast, friendly, and authentic local vibe, Primetime is a solid contender for the best restaurants near me MenashaWI.
