A beautiful Saturday afternoon and my daughter had an idea that I couldn’t resist—heading to Wisconsin Dells for the Automation Car Show. How could I pass up a day with my little lady and some awesome cars? So, we jumped in the car and made our way to the Dells.

The show was held in the Mt Olympus Water Park parking lot. As we got close to downtown, the roads were filling up with all kinds of vehicles—everything from sleek vintage cars to massive trucks. My daughter, being all about those big trucks, was thrilled.

The last mile was a slow crawl, but we finally pulled into the parking area, only to be directed to the overflow lot about half a mile away. No big deal—more walking meant more time to chat and enjoy the anticipation of what awaited us.

As we arrived at the show, the variety of vehicles was impressive. From trucks to cars to beaters with heaters, there was something for everyone. I found myself thinking that next time, I might just bring my old Jeep and pay the $20 to park right in the show. It would save the walk and give me a front-row spot in the action.

Typical vendor pricing was in full effect—$6 for a soda—but that didn’t dampen our spirits. We wandered through the rows of vehicles, admiring the gleaming chrome and polished paint jobs, and chatted with some of the proud owners about their rides.

The vendor tents were full of interesting items, and we enjoyed the sunny day, soaking in the sights and sounds of the car show. It was more than just a display of vehicles; it was a community event where car enthusiasts of all ages could come together and share their passion.

By noon, some of the cars were starting to leave the show. We decided to head to downtown and grab a burger. We stopped into the Showboat Saloon and got a window seat so we could people-watch and see all the cars driving through. The burgers were good, and the company was amazing.

It was another fun-filled day of cars, sun, and family. Spending time with my daughter made it all the more special. If you ever get the chance to check out the Automation Car Show in Wisconsin Dells, don’t hesitate. It’s a day well spent.
